While researching Press Kits I found that one of the somewhat frequent questions is: “Are Press Kits still relevant?

Do you need to spend time and energy creating one for your mobile app or game?

The short answer is YES.

As long as websites and other media are interested in covering new and updated apps, press kits will be relevant.

Having a press kit significantly boosts the chances your app will get covered because the press kit makes it way easier for the journalist to write about your app.

It depends on your strategy

If your plan for getting downloads excludes the press - which is also a valid strategy - then you can totally feel free to skip the press kit - and focus on other areas like ASO (App Store Optimisation) and getting good ratings for your app.

However, in most cases creating a press kit doesn’t involve a significant amount of time, so that is another thing to consider.

Do YOU need a Press Kit?

If so, you should check out ImpressKit. My project makes creating and hosting a Press Kit easy. So you can focus on the content and contacting the press and not fighting with web technologies.
